Our band members full names are Billy Barreras\, Dillan Reese\, Gabriel McMahan\, and Kyle Johnston. We primarily play alternative indie and rock. \nChess Club Dropout  \n \nChess Club Dropout is an alt-rock band consisting of 4 members from Phoenix\, AZ. The group is comprised of James Lee (drums\, bass\, vox)\, Jorge Chavez (guitar\, drums\, vox)\, Evan Henderson (bass\, vox\, guitar)\, and Tanner Hoffman (keyboard\, guitar\, vox). CCD prides themselves on being able to switch instruments depending on the song\, leading to an entertaining live show and the effect that no song sounds the same. \nThey have been playing together for almost a year and take inspiration from various bands of the 90s-2000s such as The Strokes\, Red Hot Chili Peppers\, and Queens of the Stone Age. Post high school\, he attended Southeast Missouri State University where he majored in Physics with a minor in Mathematics and Engineering Physics. Upon graduation during the year of COVID\, he moved out to Phoenix\, AZ where he soon began getting involved in the local music scene with his personal music project\, as well as the psychedelic rock band Tracers. \nHis major musical influences are AC/DC\, U2\, The Black Keys\, Coldplay\, Tame Impala\, Wilderado\, Bear’s Den\, and Jack White.

The band’s on-stage antics and interaction with the audience is an augment to their musical library\, which ranges from Lynyrd Skynyrd to John Mayer\, Joan Jett\, Chris Stapleton\, The Georgia Satellites as well as crowd favorites from the 50s to present day Rock and Roll. They have entertained from one end of the Phoenix metro area to another at clubs\, restaurants\, private parties\, and corporate functions. Unfazed by the size of their audience\, they can light up a small audience while maintaining engagement in larger venues. \nJeff Frost\, more commonly known as “Frosty\,” is the founding member and frontman of the band. Jeff has been playing around the valley for many years and is famous for putting all of himself into his performances\, leaving nothing on the table. On keyboards\, his playing style is reminiscent of Jerry Lee and Dr. John\, while his vocals morph from raw to that of a crooner. His stage presence is intense\, to say the least –if you can catch him standing still while performing\, it’s a miracle. \nOn guitar is Dale (Zippy) James. His virtuosity and creativity on the instrument belie his young age. He is 18 as of this writing. He wows crowds and fellow guitarists wherever he plays. He also plays keys and bass and sings. \nRich Alfano is the bassist who has solidified the groove and feel of the band’s music. \nRyan O’Hara provides the heartbeat for the group. An adept percussionist\, he has been known to change the backbeat of musical standards bringing a whole new timbre to the tunes.
